The changing leaves, the crisp cool air, tights, boots, and sweater weather, the smell of pumpkin spice EVERYTHING....It must be fall.....everywhere but Florida! (Although, a fair amount of us are guilty of the pumpkin spice thing)
We are the home of the endless summer. A place most of us have chosen as our home. As much as I miss my turtlenecks and sweaters, my LL Bean boots and pom pom hats, I DO NOT miss the cold. But I do miss fall. So how do we transition to fall and fall fashion in Florida? The beauty part is there are no rules! White is allowed year round, so is denim. Gold is a neutral instead of a new year's eve color. To some of us (mostly me) black is harsh down here. It's hard to wear black in the bright sunshine. But navy is a wonderful substitute and goes with everything!
With the exception of a week, maybe two, during the winter, our standard uniform is still flip flops, shorts, and sundresses. So to "fall-ify" we don't need to make too many changes...go from wedge sandals to peep toe booties, tone down our neon lily-esque colors to something a little more muted, add a fun scarf to a solid colored dress or outfit, or grab a cashmere topper or jean jacket when going out for the evening. The nights do get chilly occasionally....says the girl from Maine ;)
I hope you find your fall fashion groove...if you have any suggestions or want to share your "looke's",find us on facebook and share. We'd love to hear from you!
